Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within. You are the Temple. You are the Congregation. Any and All Truth is the Gospel. The Divine Spirit within you is your True Minister.

I Know that this was the topic a very short time ago but...
This topic cannot be covered too many times...

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #998, is Love…

(From: The Tao Te Ching - #8 )
The Supreme good flows like water nourishing all things without trying to. It seeps everywhere, even to the low places that people disdain. Thus it is like the Tao.

In dwelling, have roots in the ground. In thinking, reduce to the simple. In conflict, maintain fairness and generosity. In governing, avoid nagging control. In work, do what pleases you, but enjoy all efforts. In family life, be completely present, as with the Tao.

When you are content to simply being yourself with no need to compare or compete you are one step closer to self-mastery.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-156 Section-5)
Human love may indeed be reciprocal, but divine love is outgoing in all its satisfaction-seeking. The less of love in any creature's nature, the greater the love need, and the more does divine love seek to satisfy such need. Love is never self-seeking, and it cannot be self-bestowed. Divine love cannot be self-contained; it must be unselfishly bestowed.

(From: The RSV Bible - John 13:34-35 )
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

The Sermon
***********
What can we truly do for others? How can we help those in need?

There is One thing that we can do, and really only one thing that we Need to do. We can Love them. That's it. Case solved.

Don't you Want to do good things for people that you Love? Of Course you do... it's only natural. Don't you just love it when people Encourage you in your pursuit of the things you care about... the things that are meaningful to you? Do you give supportive encouragement to people to be themselves and to follow their soul's dreams? Don't you love the look of loving gratitude and respect that you get when you do?

It never ceases to amaze me how many people genuinely return love... in a smile or a glance... in a helping hand or in a caring word... when I give it first to them. Do I recognize all the times that other people show it to me first? Do I return it as often as I could? I wonder how many opportunities to give and receive God's love I miss every day? Geez... I better start being more aware... How about You?

Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your
age, and start bragging about it.

Quotes

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-160 Section-2)
Many noble human impulses die because there is no one to hear their expression. Truly, it is not good for man to be alone. Some degree of recognition and a certain amount of appreciation are essential to the development of human character.

(From: Dale Carnegie)
You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or is discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.

(From: Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)
One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feeling. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-111 Section-6)
The expansion of material knowledge permits a greater intellectual appreciation of the meanings of ideas and the values of ideals. A human being can find truth in his inner experience, but he needs a clear knowledge of facts to apply his personal discovery of truth to the ruthlessly practical demands of everyday life.

(From: Christiane Northrup, M.D.)
Feeling grateful to or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life.

(From: Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862)
In solitude especially do we begin to appreciate the advantage of living with someone who can think.

(From: Kanye West)
If you have the opportunity to play this game of life you need to appreciate every moment. A lot of people don't appreciate the moment until it's passed.

(From: Al Franken, "Oh, the Things I Know", 2002)
Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way.

(From: Thomas Hughes)
Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another.

(From: Grenville Kleiser)
There are fine things which you mean to do some day, under what you think will be more favorable circumstances. But the only time that is surely yours is the present, hence this is the time to speak the word of appreciation and sympathy, to do the generous deed, to forgive the fault of a thoughtless friend, to sacrifice self a little more for others. Today is the day in which to express your noblest qualities of mind and heart, to do at least one worthy thing which you have long postponed, and to use your God-given abilities for the enrichment of someone less fortunate. Today you can make your life significant and worthwhile. The present is yours to do with as you will.

The Sermon
***********
The vast assortment of worldly things we each appreciate is as individual and unique as are each and every one of us. All on some level appreciate Art, Music, Beauty… each differently and in their own way of course. This is not the category of Appreciation though, that I address today…

Appreciation…

The Gift that will please Everyone… the Gift that keeps on Giving.

Appreciation…

Accept it Gratefully… Give it Generously.

Appreciation…

Try not to reject it. Try even harder not to withhold it

Appreciation…

It should not be allowed to stagnate… It is something that must be allowed to grow.

Appreciation…

It is possible to appreciate something about almost anyone… and some things about many… and many things about some… and most things about very few… but everything about no one in particular.

Though we might sincerely wish that another could completely appreciate everything about us that is deserving or that we could fully appreciate them as much as they be worthy of… I can fairly confidently say that only God is actually capable of that Absolute level of Appreciation.

Appreciation…

Few there are indeed who receive enough or show enough, though I perceive that it is not through any lack of desire to do so.
