Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

She was ordained a Minister of the Church Within and was on our Board of Directors as well as our corporate vice President… a Beautiful, Compassionate and Loving Soul… a Friend… our Beloved Judy Girard Graduated from this mortal life on February 1st, to begin the next phase of her Eternal Journey to God's Perfection. Knowing where she is now, I am exceedingly Happy for her… she has truly earned her reward. But knowing that she is no longer Physically here with us also saddens me. I shall miss her wisdom and her humor, her understanding and her wit… though indeed those are already a part of me so really I will only have to wait until my own eventual graduation to enjoy more of them. --- Bon Voyage dear friend and Aloha! We will dearly miss your yearly Thanksgiving Services, and we will miss You!

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-113 Section-7)
It is indeed an epoch in the career of an ascending mortal, this first awakening on the shores of the mansion world; there, for the first time, actually to see your long-loved and ever-present angelic companions of earth days; there also to become truly conscious of the identity and presence of the divine Monitor who so long indwelt your mind on earth. Such an experience constitutes a glorious awakening, a real resurrection.

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #746, is Awakening…

Quotes

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-100 Section-2)
Spiritual growth is first an awakening to needs, next a discernment of meanings, and then a discovery of values. The evidence of true spiritual development consists in the exhibition of a human personality motivated by love, activated by unselfish ministry, and dominated by the wholehearted worship of the perfection ideals of divinity. And this entire experience constitutes the reality of religion as contrasted with mere theological beliefs.

(From: Albert Camus (1913 - 1960)
When you have once seen the glow of happiness on the face of a beloved person, you know that a man can have no vocation but to awaken that light on the faces surrounding him. In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.

(From: Abraham 10/8/01 – the Woods Cross TeaM)
My friends, find time to be in celebration of all of life. Do not awaken dreading the duties of the day, but awaken your inner-selves to the possibilities of the day. Where will Father have me go today? What will He be trying to show me? How can I be a cog that turns the universal wheel of life? Being mindful of celebrating life. You are in an attitude of creating joy, not just your own, but for all. You become a part of the whole and join in the healing, not just another mortal struggling up the spiritual ladder.

(From: Sharon Salzberg, O Magazine, The Power of Intention, January 2004)
If we fall, we don't need self-recrimination or blame or anger - we need a reawakening of our intention and a willingness to recommit, to be whole-hearted once again.

(From: Ham 5/30/2004 – the Nashville TeaM)
The greatest need of the soul is love, and as you awaken to love you will be given more. Your love, your capacity for love will never diminish. Love must grow and love must flow from you outward to others. Love is not something that you and the Father can have in secret. When you love God the world soon sees that He loves you, for His love flows through you and touches everyone around you.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-188 Section-5)
Jesus is truly a savior in the sense that his life and death do win men over to goodness and righteous survival. Jesus loves men so much that his love awakens the response of love in the human heart. Love is truly contagious and eternally creative.

(From: Gail Sheehy)
If every day is an awakening, you will never grow old. You will just keep growing.

Humor of the Week
*****************
When we are tempted to magnify our self-importance, if we stop to contemplate the infinity of the greatness and grandeur of our Makers, our own self-glorification becomes sublimely ridiculous, even verging on the humorous. One of the functions of humor is to help all of us take ourselves less seriously. Humor is the divine antidote for exaltation of ego.

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

I started out with a topic of helpfulness, but ended up with…

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #747, is Motivation…

********************************************
Quotes
*******
(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-71 Section-6)
Present-day profit-motivated economics is doomed unless profit motives can be augmented by service motives. Ruthless competition based on narrow-minded self-interest is ultimately destructive of even those things which it seeks to maintain. Exclusive and self-serving profit motivation is incompatible with Christian ideals — much more incompatible with the teachings of Jesus.

(From: Francois de La Rochefoucauld (1613 - 1680), Maxims, 1665)
However brilliant an action, it should not be esteemed great unless the result of a great motive.

(From: James M. Barrie (1860 - 1937)
Never ascribe to an opponent motives meaner than your own.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-140 Section-4)
The happy and effective person is motivated, not by fear of wrongdoing, but by love of
right doing.

(From: Zig Ziglar)
People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing—that's why we recommend it daily.

(From: Lloyd Dobyns and Clare Crawford-Mason, Thinking About Quality)
The only lifelong, reliable motivations are those that come from within, and one of the strongest of those is the joy and pride that grow from knowing that you've just done something as well as you can do it.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-100- Section-2)
Spiritual growth is first an awakening to needs, next a discernment of meanings, and then a discovery of values. The evidence of true spiritual development consists in the exhibition of a human personality motivated by love, activated by unselfish ministry, and dominated by the wholehearted worship of the perfection ideals of divinity.

(From: Kenneth Hildebrand)
Strong lives are motivated by dynamic purposes.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-103 Section-4)
God the Father deals with man his child on the basis, not of actual virtue or worthiness, but in recognition of the child's motivation — the creature purpose and intent. The relationship is one of parent-child association and is actuated by divine love.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-100 Section-4)
You can best discover values in your associates by discovering their motivation.

(From:
Lou Holtz)

Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

(From: Solonia 2/28/04 – the Garden TeaM)
Always is there a gift in the process, if you can but recognize it and claim it. Never will your sincere steps lead you into a situation in where there is Not a divine gift from our beloved Creator, but discovering the Truth---truly discovering Father's Will---must be your motivation if you are to greatly benefit from the experience.

(From: Henry Miller (1891 - 1980)
Living apart and at peace with myself, I came to realize more vividly the meaning of the doctrine of acceptance. To refrain from giving advice, to refrain from meddling in the affairs of others, to refrain, even though the motives be the highest, from tampering with another's way of life - so simple, yet so difficult for an active spirit.

(From: Roy Moody)
The greatest motivational act one person can do for another is to listen.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-196 Section-3)
Love is the highest motivation which man may utilize in his universe ascent.

The Sermon
***********
If only we could Truly know everyone's Genuine Inner Motives, what a different world this would be… don't you think? Can you imagine what your life would be like if you had never had any of your real Motives misinterpreted… or how different it might be if you had never misunderstood anyone else's True Motives???

Thank Goodness God knows our Genuine Inner Motives.
Your Motives are Loving and Good, aren't they?

Dear God,
Help me to better discern the True Motives of my fellow human beings.

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #748, is Giving…

Quotes

(From: “Jesus” - The Urantia Book - Paper-140 Section-4)
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and be led to glorify your Father who is in heaven."

(From:
Buddha (563 BC - 483 BC)

If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way.

(From: Joyce Grenfell)
I have come to believe that giving and receiving are really the same. Giving and receiving - not giving and taking.

(From: Maya Angelou (1928 -)
I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-30 Section-3)
The entire ascendant plan of mortal progression is characterized by the practice of giving out to other beings new truth and experience just as soon as acquired. You work your way through the long school of Paradise attainment by serving as teachers to those pupils just behind you in the scale of progression.

(From: Walt Whitman (1819 - 1892)
The habit of giving only enhances the desire to give.

(From: Mother Teresa (1910 - 1997)
It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-117 Section-4)
The more closely man approaches God through love, the greater the reality--actuality--of that man. The more man withdraws from God, the more nearly he approaches nonreality--cessation of existence. When man consecrates his will to the doing of the Father's will, when man gives God all that he has, then does God make that man more than he is.

(From: Sheldon Kopp)
In the long run, we get no more than we have been willing to risk giving.

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
It's not about Giving money or things… it's not about Giving advice unless it is genuinely requested nor even about Giving guidance or direction.

It IS about the Giving of Your Smile, Your Encouragement, Your Assistance, Your Support… Your Love.

Just Being there for someone is Giving… Listening is a most appreciated form of
Giving… Giving Acknowledgement, Acceptance, Recognition. Respect.

Truly Giving is about Giving a part of yourself… about Giving of the Gifts that God has lovingly given to You. It will cost you nothing… it's Value is Everything!

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

No one can give it to you and you cannot buy it.
It must truly be earned…

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #749, is Achievement…

********************************************
Quotes
*******
(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-28 Section-6)
Progress is made possible by inherent motion, advancement grows out of the divine capacity for action, and achievement is the child of imaginative adventure. But inherent in this capacity for achievement is the responsibility of ethics, the necessity for recognizing that the world and the universe are filled with a multitude of differing types of beings. All of this magnificent creation, including yourself, was not made just for you. This is not an egocentric universe. The Gods have decreed, "It is more blessed to give than to receive," and said your Master Son, "He who would be greatest among you let him be server of all."

(From: Woodrow Wilson (1856 - 1924)
You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-48 Section-7)
The destiny of eternity is determined moment by moment by the achievements of the day by day living. The acts of today are the destiny of tomorrow.

(From: Ayn Rand (1905 - 1982)
Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one's values.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-39 Section-4)
There is no material reward for righteous living, but there is profound satisfaction--consciousness of achievement--and this transcends any conceivable material reward.

(From: Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882 - 1945)
Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

(From: “Jesus” - The Urantia Book - Paper-130 Section-6)
“But most valuable of all, your potential of real achievement is the spirit which lives within you, and which will stimulate and inspire your mind to control itself and activate the body if you will release it from the fetters of fear and thus enable your spiritual nature to begin your deliverance from the evils of inaction by the power-presence of living faith. And then, forthwith, will this faith vanquish fear of men by the compelling presence of that new and all-dominating love of your fellows which will so soon fill your soul to overflowing because of the consciousness which has been born in your heart that you are a child of God.”

(From: Harold Taylor)
The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best that you can become.

(From: “Jesus” - The Urantia Book - Paper-147 Section-5)
Said Jesus: "My children, if there exists a true and living connection between the child and the Father, the child is certain to progress continuously toward the Father's ideals. True, the child may at first make slow progress, but the progress is none the less sure. The important thing is not the rapidity of your progress but rather its certainty. Your actual achievement is not so important as the fact that the direction of your progress is Godward. What you are becoming day by day is of infinitely more importance than what you are today.

(From:
Richard Bach)

Humanity is not a gift of nature, it is a spiritual achievement to be earned.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-160 Section-4)
Failure is simply an educational episode--a cultural experiment in the acquirement of wisdom--in the experience of the God-seeking man who has embarked on the eternal adventure of the exploration of a universe. To such men defeat is but a new tool for the achievement of higher levels of universe reality.
The career of a God-seeking man may prove to be a great success in the light of eternity, even though the whole temporal-life enterprise may appear as an overwhelming failure, provided each life failure yielded the culture of wisdom and spirit achievement.

(From: Helen Hayes (1900 - 1993)
My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that 'achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others, and that's nice, too, but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.'

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Achievement…

…once earned, cannot be taken away.
…is a most reliable vehicle for the attainment of personal satisfaction.
…is wealth for the Soul.

Life Enriching Achievement does not stand still as a trophy, but rather fuels the eternal quest towards new and enhanced Achievement.

Ego sees Achievement as an end…
Soul sees Achievement as a Beginning…
Spirit sees Achievement as a Way of Life.

Personal Achievement is never free, in fact at times its price is high, but its value far surpasses any expenditure and the cost is never more than you are able to pay.

Achievement is not about ability… it is about willingness…

*******************************************
The Prayer
**********
Dear God,
        Strengthen my willingness.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal
Parent,

The Creator's Infinite Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
