The Sermon

Are you Spiritually Refreshed? What do you find Refreshing to your Mind... your Soul... your Spirit??

It's easy thinking of things that refresh the body when it is feeling overworked, tired, depleted... we as humans are so dependent upon them. A cool drink, a good meal or snack, rest and sleep... to name a few. We spend a lot of time in life Refreshing our physical bodies, our external self in some way or another... perhaps even half or our time or more when you actually consider it.

Sleep and/or rest is of course the common Refreshment seemingly required by both our external and internal selves.

I had to think about it for a little bit before remembering all the things that are so Refreshing to the Inner self. Then all of a sudden they just started flowing into my consciousness. Everything inspiring that our senses reveal to our minds can and should be Refreshing... a Beautiful or Awe Inspiring Sight, an Aromatic or Enticing Smell, a Reminiscent or Soul Embracing Sound, an Assuring or Gentle Loving Touch... sharing it all with others... and with God.

Sharing all of the Excellent things in life... Beauty, Truth, Goodness and Love... is truly Refreshing. Sharing gives everything more value... more sustenance... more durability.

Thinking that you have enough of it is evidence that you do not.

Praying for it will inevitably provide an opportunity for earning it... but never is it a free gift.

Knowledge and Experience are essential in attaining it, but they are by no means a guarantee of it.

We all need it, we all want it, we all have varying degrees of it.

Come to think of it, most whose Fathers are still with us on this world have likely experienced this as well from time to time.

Cannot the very same thing be said about our Heavenly Father as well?

Let us truly Love our Fathers not only today but every day.
