My mother said to me, if you go into the military, you will become a general. If you go into the clergy, you will become Pope. Instead, I became an artist, and I am Piccaso.

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #750, is the Artist…

Quotes
*******
(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-48 Section-7)
The high mission of any art is, by its illusions, to foreshadow a higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time into the thought of eternity.

(From: Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.

(From: Abraham 11/10/02 – the Woods Cross TeaM)
A true artist always takes notice of those details that are not usually noticed. The artist sees with the divine eyes. The artist comprehends to the soul level. Any good artist knows that the creation cannot be rushed or hurried through

(From: Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)
I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

(From:
don Miguel Ruiz)

Every human is an artist. The dream of your life is to make beautiful art.

(From: Henry Ward Beecher (1813 - 1887)
Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.

(From: Andre Gide (1869 - 1951)
Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.

(From: Piet Mondrian (1872 - 1944)
The position of the artist is humble. He is essentially a channel.

(From: The Book of Runes - #24 - Wholeness / Life Forces / The Sun's Energy)
Practice the art of “Doing without doing.” Aim yourself truly and then maintain your aim without manipulative effort, for by our own power we do nothing. Even in loving, it is Love that loves through us.

(From: The Tao Te Ching - #27)
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving.
A good artist lets his intuition lead him wherever it wants.
A good scientist has freed himself of concepts and keeps his mind open to what is.

(From: Charles Bukowski (1920 - 1994)
An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way.

(From: Viggo Mortensen)
Everyone has it in them to be an artist. No matter what you pursue in life you can still express your own unique artistic vision. And that is the most important thing to do. It doesn't matter what those around you think or say about your art, what matters is to just go through the process of creating. It's only within that process that you can understand.

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
It is whenever the Artist is in contact with The Divine Source that Art happens.

It is whenever any man, woman or child is in contact with The Divine Source that they become the Artist.

It is that connection with God, that joy of co-creation that calls to the Soul…
Be the Artist

Let All of Life Be Your Art…
Make the Connection…

The Prayer
**********
Dear God,
I wish to be in contact with you at all times. Please help me to accomplish that goal.

Wrote Shakespeare: To thine own self be true…

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #751, is Integrity…

Quotes
*******
(From:
Erich Fromm (1900 - 1980)
Love is union with somebody, or something, outside oneself, under the condition of retaining the separateness and integrity of one's own self.

(From:
Ayn Rand (1905 - 1982), The Fountianhead)

Morality is judgment to distinguish right and wrong, vision to see the truth, courage to act upon it, dedication to that which is good, and integrity to stand by it at any price.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-101 Section-8)
Faith has falsified its trust when it presumes to deny realities and to confer upon its devotees assumed knowledge. Faith is a traitor when it fosters betrayal of intellectual integrity and belittles loyalty to supreme values and divine ideals. Faith never shuns the problem-solving duty of mortal living. Living faith does not foster bigotry, persecution, or intolerance.

(From: Oprah Winfrey)
Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not.

(From: “Jesus” - The Urantia Book - Paper-169 Section-2)
“I affirm that he who is faithful in little will also be faithful in much, while he who is unrighteous in little will also be unrighteous in much. If you have not shown foresight and integrity in the affairs of this world, how can you hope to be faithful and prudent when you are trusted with the stewardship of the true riches of the heavenly kingdom?”

(From: George Santayana (1863 - 1952)
Our character...is an omen of our destiny, and the more integrity we have and keep, the simpler and nobler that destiny is likely to be.

(From: Arnold Horshak)
Winning is nice if you don't lose your integrity in the process.

(From: “Jesus” - The Urantia Book - Paper-132 Section-4)
“Upon the impartiality, fairness, and integrity of its courts the endurance of a nation depends. Civil government is founded on justice, even as true religion is founded on mercy.”

(From: Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)
Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.

(From: Meister Eckhart)
In silence man can most readily preserve his integrity.

(From: Dr. Laura Schlessinger)
The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self- esteem.

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Integrity has little or nothing to do with perception or with understanding… and yet it is not perception and understanding upon which a person's Integrity is built?

Integrity has much if not all to do with motivation and with intention… and yet motive and intent must ever be refreshed and reaffirmed in order to build Integrity.

Only you and God can rightly evaluate and accurately judge your own Integrity… and perhaps it is only God who truly can.

The Integrity that matters most is our own. Is it the one we pay the most attention to?

*******************************************
The Prayer
**********
Dear God,
Thank You for loving us unconditionally. Help us the better to achieve that more fully with one another.

“We come into this world head first and go out feet first; in between, it is all a matter of balance.”

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

In my search for quotes today, I discovered that all of the pertinent quotes seemed to me, totally unfamiliar. I cannot believe that I haven't, but is it at all possible that I have never actually covered this topic before???

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #752, is Balance…

********************************************
Quotes
*******
(From:
Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC)
The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man.

(From: Malcolm Gladwell, Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, 2005)
Truly successful decision making relies on a balance between deliberate and instinctive thinking.

(From: The Tao Te Ching - #53)
The great Way is easy,
yet people prefer the side paths.
Be aware when things are out of balance.
Stay centered within the Tao.

When rich speculators prosper
While farmers lose their land;
when government officials spend money
on weapons instead of cures;
when the upper class is extravagant and irresponsible
while the poor have nowhere to turn-
all this is robbery and chaos.
It is not in keeping with the Tao.

(From: Peter Mere Latham)
Fortunate indeed, is the man who takes exactly the right measure of himself, and holds a just balance between what he can acquire and what he can use.

(From:
Morrie Swartz, Tuesdays with Morrie)

Don't hold on too long, but don't let go to soon. Find a balance.

(From: Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.

(From: Malvantia - 4/15/94 – The Spokane TeaM)
Too much of one thing will pull you out of balance. To surge ahead without wisdom and discernment can create temporary happiness that could end up in disillusionment. Find the balance to go forth and have glee and happiness obtained through experience which creates wisdom. Know that the twisted rocky paths that you have taken in the past need not be taken anymore, that you can eliminate many of the complications from your lives simply from past experience, inner knowing and wisdom, creating balance and harmony.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-48 Section-6)
If you fail, will you rise indomitably to try anew? If you succeed, will you maintain a well-balanced poise--a stabilized and spiritualized attitude--throughout every effort in the long struggle to break the fetters of material inertia, to attain the freedom of spirit existence?

(From: Malvantia - 4/15/94 – The Spokane TeaM)
Come into this balance knowing that you are human with frailties, that the frailties are part of your balance, for it pulls you in and out in order to learn your experiences and gain the wisdom that is required for soul growth. So bless your frailties and love your frailties, for if you acknowledge your frailties they can teach you much

(From: Rodney Yee)
As we look deeply within, we understand our perfect balance. There is no fear of the cycle of birth, life and death. For when you stand in the present moment, you are timeless.

(From: Albert Einstein)
“The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.”

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-149 Section-4)
It was not so much what Jesus taught about the balanced character that impressed his associates as the fact that his own life was such an eloquent exemplification of his teaching. He lived in the midst of stress and storm, but he never wavered. His enemies continually laid snares for him, but they never entrapped him. The wise and learned endeavored to trip him, but he did not stumble. They sought to embroil him in debate, but his answers were always enlightening, dignified, and final. When he was interrupted in his discourses with multitudinous questions, his answers were always significant and conclusive. Never did he resort to ignoble tactics in meeting the continuous pressure of his enemies, who did not hesitate to employ every sort of false, unfair, and unrighteous mode of attack upon him.

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Life often seems to be one big Balancing Act, does it not? It is almost as if Balance is what Life is all about… or at the very least it must be a significant if not essential lesson of living that we are expected to learn.

For many, the struggle for basic human survival requires so much attention that Balance is consigned to nothing more than the realm of, not falling down or, not dropping things they are trying to carry. Fundamental perhaps, yet still of undeniable value wouldn't you say?

For others, Balance is the embodiment of living in ultimate harmony with universal reality.

Most of us fall somewhere in between those extremes of Balance definition. In reality, I can no more define Balance for you than you can define Balance for Me. Balance is a Personal reality and a personal acquirement. I must find mine and you must find yours.

Find the Balance between too much and too little in all good things.

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

Some things just cannot be accomplished without…

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #753, is Dedication…

********************************************
Quotes
*******
(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-100 Section-2)
Jesus portrayed the profound surety of the God-knowing mortal when he said: "To a God-knowing kingdom believer, what does it matter if all things earthly crash?" Temporal securities are vulnerable, but spiritual sureties are impregnable. When the flood tides of human adversity, selfishness, cruelty, hate, malice, and jealousy beat about the mortal soul, you may rest in the assurance that there is one inner bastion, the citadel of the spirit, which is absolutely unassailable; at least this is true of every human being who has dedicated the keeping of his soul to the indwelling spirit of the eternal God.

(From: Sri Sathya Sai Baba)
If you do not feel the call at the sight of human distress, disease or deviation from the right, how can you muster the determination and dedication necessary to serve the unseen, inscrutable, mysterious God? When you do not love man, your heart will not love God.

(From: Dr. Thomas Dooley)
Dedicate some of your life to others. Your dedication will not be a sacrifice. It will be an exhilarating experience because it is an intense effort applied toward a meaningful end.

(From: Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968), "Strength to Love")
The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.

(From: Viktor Frankl, Man's Search For Meaning)
Don't aim at success - the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue... as the unintended side-effect of one's personal dedication to a course greater than oneself.

(From:
Frank Lloyd Wright)

I know the price of success: dedication, hard work, and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.

(From: Ayn Rand (1905 - 1982), The Fountianhead)
Morality is judgment to distinguish right and wrong, vision to see the truth, courage to act upon it, dedication to that which is good, and integrity to stand by it at any price.

(From: Gail Devers)
Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.

(From: William Longgood)
“Dreams and dedication are a powerful combination.”

(From: Ham 11/26/2000 – the Nashville TeaM)
When you dedicate yourselves to the Father you have become dedicated to something dynamic. It is different than the dedication to an ideal or a principle, for these things remain static. When you dedicate yourselves to the Father, you are dedicating yourselves to following your highest perception of spiritual reality. And though the Father himself is changeless, your perception of him and thus his will for you, in return, is in constant change.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-1 Section-1)
The affectionate dedication of the human will to the doing of the Father's will is man's choicest gift to God; in fact, such a consecration of creature will constitutes man's only possible gift of true value to the Paradise Father.

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Knowledge, Ability, Understanding …
Endurance, Strength and Sense of Responsibility…

Each significant and worthwhile tools in the acquirement, the attainment, the achievement of a goal. But it is Dedication that insures success… that Dedication characterized by personal sacrifice and devotion.
Dedication to the goal itself…
Dedication to the ideal represented by the goal…
Dedication to the person or persons who inspire the goal.

I believe it is our Dedication to something Worthy that keeps us going through the difficult times, that helps us to overcome the obstacles, and that pulls us back to our feet when we fall. It is Dedication that transforms failure into a valuable lesson, Dedication that gives life meaning, Dedication that results in personal fulfillment.

*******************************************
The Prayer
**********
Dear God,
True Dedication has You as both it's Source and it's Goal.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal
Parent,

The Creator's Infinite Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
