Welcome by: Pastor Daniel

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within. You are the Temple. You are the Congregation. Any and All Truth is the Gospel. The Divine Spirit within you is your True Minister.

You are heading in the right direction if yours cannot be questioned...

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #854, is Sincerity…

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Sincerity

It really makes an impression upon the Soul when one is fortunate enough to witness and recognize it...

You know the feeling, Right?
Sad that it is not more Universal...wouldn't you say?

Sincerity

It is relatively easy to recognize and yet so many have such a difficult time doing so and believing in it...

Why is that do you think?
Could it be that we were shown an insufficient amount of it in our early formative years?
Could it be that we were hurt emotionally by trusting in it some time in the past and fear being hurt again in the same way?
Could it be because we see so little of it in the daily Media, it makes us less able to trust what we see right in front of us?

Sincerity

You have it do you not?

Oh not always a hundred percent at times perhaps, but Mostly right?
You would Like to be able to be Sincere all the time... wouldn't you?
Is that Possible... Actually? It Must be, Right? Of Course it is... at some point in our lives we each must have had an acquaintance with, maybe a friendship with, perchance a relationship with someone who's Sincerity was Unquestionable... Sincerity that just seemed to permeate their whole being? They never used it to offend nor to defend... it was always rooted in Love, in Truth, in Goodness. It is people such as these that keep us wanting to believe, and trust and hope... even when obvious insincerity may seem so prevalent.

Sincerity

Though other mortals may be unable to perfectly recognize Sincerity, but God is Not so limited...
God is always Unfailingly aware of, values and is pleased by, the Sincerity of each and every one of his children.

Sincerity

Give God Yours...
Give Everyone Yours...
Make Sincerity a Gift to Yourself!

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-170 Section-2)
1. Faith, sincerity. To come as a little child, to receive the bestowal of sonship as a gift; to submit to the doing of the Father's will without questioning and in the full confidence and genuine trustfulness of the Father's wisdom; to come into the kingdom free from prejudice and preconception; to be open-minded and teachable like an unspoiled child.

(From: Ham 5/17/2001 – the Nashville TeaM)
The philosophy of the mind is not so important as the sincerity of the heart.

(From: Dale Carnegie )
You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or is discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.

(From: Anthony Robbins )
Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life's deepest joy: true fulfillment.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-100 Section-7)
The unfailing kindness of Jesus touched the hearts of men, but his stalwart strength of character amazed his followers. He was truly sincere; there was nothing of the hypocrite in him. He was free from affectation; he was always so refreshingly genuine. He never stooped to pretense, and he never resorted to shamming. He lived the truth, even as he taught it.

(From: Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC )
Hold faithfulness and sincerity as first principles.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-39 Section-4)
The keys of the kingdom of heaven are: sincerity, more sincerity, and more sincerity. All men have these keys. Men use them—advance in spirit status—by decisions, by more decisions, and by more decisions. The highest moral choice is the choice of the highest possible value, and always—in any sphere, in all of them—this is to choose to do the will of God.

(From: Mencius (371 BC - 289 BC), Works )
Sincerity is the way of Heaven.

(From: William A. Foster )
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

(From: Aaron - 5/3/02– the S.E. Idaho TeaM)
You can only know the sincerity of your own heart. Keep your sincerity intact and don't worry about progress. If you sincerely desire to do God's will, it shall be revealed to you...maybe not with trumpets and loud announcements, but with that feeling that you have within, that peaceful feeling, that joyful feeling. These are the indicators of that harmony, that personality balance.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-131 Section-1)
The man who knows God looks upon all men as equal; they are his brethren. Those who are selfish, those who ignore their brothers in the flesh, have only weariness as their reward. Those who love their fellows and who have pure hearts shall see God. God never forgets sincerity. He will guide the honest of heart into the truth, for God is truth.

(From: George Santayana (1863 - 1952 )
A man is morally free when, in full possession of his living humanity, he judges the world, and judges other men, with uncompromising sincerity.

(From: Ham 5/17/2001 – the Nashville TeaM)
When you speak of your own experience with God in complete sincerity and truth, your message is amplified. People hear the sincere witnessing of experience of the true believer.
One who has unwavering faith has great power to effect the lives of others.

(From: “Jesus” - The Urantia Book - Paper-158 Section-5)
“Question not my Father's power of love, only the sincerity and reach of your faith. All things are possible to him who really believes.”

(From: Woodrow Wilson (1856 - 1924 )
We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.

(From: Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC )
To be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.

(From: The Book of Runes -#12 reversed )
Seen in its true light, everything is a test. And so, focused in the present, sincere toward others and trusting in your process, know that you cannot fail.

The Sermon
***********
Have you ever said the prayer, “God, please be with me...”

Not an unusual request, right? Downright common come to think of it... wouldn't you say? When you are feeling down... when you are afraid... when you want help with something... when you need strength, endurance, patience, resolve. There are virtually an unlimited number of reasons why one would ask God to be with them.

I got to pondering about that... since God is everywhere always... perhaps the more effective prayer would be, “Help me the better to be With You.”

Think about it. Asking God to be with you suggests that maybe you might feel that He/She Isn't with you. It is only the ego that doubts it, your Soul Knows God is Always there With You.

Conscious of being With God and working With God, your potential is unlimited... your Spirit Free to Soar to New Heights.

God is already With You.

Be With God.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-1Section-4)
There sojourns within each moral being of this planet a fragment of God, a part and parcel of divinity. It is not yet yours by right of possession, but it is designedly intended to be one with you if you survive the mortal existence.

(From: The KJV Bible - John 14:16)
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

(From: The RSV Bible - John 14:17)

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-1 Section-5)
It is literally true: “In all your afflictions he is afflicted.” “In all your triumphs he triumphs in and with you.” His prepersonal divine spirit is a real part of you.

(From: Horace (65 BC - 8 BC), Odes )
With you I should love to live, with you be ready to die.

Talking with you is sort of the conversational equivalent of an out of body experience.

“Remember, there are two things you cannot run away from — God and yourself. Wherever you may go, you take with you yourself and the spirit of the heavenly Father which lives within your heart.”

(From: Maya Angelou (1928 - ), in Daily News )
Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told, 'I'm with you kid. Let's go.'

(From: Chris Evert )
If you can react the same way to winning and losing, that is a big accomplishment. That quality is important because it stays with you the rest of your life.

(From: The RSV Bible - John 14:27)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-131 Section-9)
A wise man is occupied with the search for truth, not in seeking for a mere living. To attain the perfection of Heaven is the goal of man. The superior man is given to self-adjustment, and he is free from anxiety and fear. God is with you; have no doubt in your heart. Every good deed has its recompense.

(From: John Allston )
The only thing you take with you when you're gone is what you leave behind

(From: George Harrison (1943 - 2001 )
Life goes on within you and without you.

(From: Robert Fulghum )
The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

The God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Compromise used to mean that half a loaf was better than no bread. Among modern statesmen it really seems to mean that half a loaf is better than a whole loaf.

The last time I used this topic, I seem to remember addressing the other side of the concept...

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #856, is Compromise…

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Compromise…
...the method of achieving desired outcomes when divergent perspectives are engaged.

Compromise…
...an important aspect of any relationship when approached sincerely and judiciously.

Compromise…
Some things may require it, other things it can destroy.

Compromise…
...not your character, nor personality or who you are as an Individual.

Compromise…
...never your Integrity nor your Principles or Ideals.

Compromise…
...never Your Love, but Always because of it.

(From:
Ludwig Erhard (1897 - 1977)
A compromise is the art of dividing a cake in such a way that everyone believes he has the biggest piece.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-144 Section-6)
They learned to differ, to debate, to contend, to pray, and to compromise, and throughout it all to remain sympathetic with the other person's viewpoint and to maintain at least some degree of tolerance for his honest opinions.

(From: Eric Hoffer (1902 - 1983 )
The uncompromising attitude is more indicative of an inner uncertainty than a deep conviction. The implacable stand is directed more against the doubt within than the assailant without.

(From: Jane Goodall)
Lasting change is a series of compromises. And compromise is all right, as long your values don't change.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-136 Section-8)
Jesus of Nazareth refused to compromise with evil, much less to consort with sin. The Master triumphantly put loyalty to his Father's will above every other earthly and temporal consideration.

A man is morally free when, in full possession of his living humanity, he judges the world, and judges other men, with uncompromising sincerity.

(From: Samuel Butler (1835 - 1902), The Way of All Flesh )
It is in the uncompromisingness with which dogma is held and not in the dogma or want of dogma that the danger lies.

(From: Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797), Speech on the Conciliation of Americ )
All government -- indeed, every human benefit and enjoyment, every virtue and every prudent act -- is founded on compromise and barter.

(From: Phyllis McGinley )
Compromise, if not the spice of life, is its solidity. It is what makes nations great and marriages happy.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-133 Section-7)
The human mind does not well stand the conflict of double allegiance. It is a severe strain on the soul to undergo the experience of an effort to serve both good and evil. The supremely happy and efficiently unified mind is the one wholly dedicated to the doing of the will of the Father in heaven. Unresolved conflicts destroy unity and may terminate in mind disruption. But the survival character of a soul is not fostered by attempting to secure peace of mind at any price, by the surrender of noble aspirations, and by the compromise of spiritual ideals; rather is such peace attained by the stalwart assertion of the triumph of that which is true, and this victory is achieved in the overcoming of evil with the potent force of good.

Humor of the Week
*****************
A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out into the middle of the road. He swerves and tries to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit had jumped right in front of the car. The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulled over and got out to see what had become of the rabbit. Much to his dismay, he sees that the rabbit is dead and that it's the Easter Bunny.

The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry. A beautiful blond woman driving down the highway sees the man crying on the side of the road and pulls over. She steps out of her car and asks the man what's wrong. "I feel terrible" he explains, "I accidentally hit the Easter Bunny with my car and Killed Him." The woman says, "Don't worry." She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can. She walks over to the limp, dead, Easter Bunny, bends down, and sprays the contents all over him.

All of a sudden, the Easter Bunny jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down the road. Ten feet away he stops, turns around and waves again, he hops down the road another 10 feet, turns and waves, hops another ten feet, turns and waves, and repeats this again and again and again and again, until he hops completely out of sight.

The man is astonished. He runs over to the woman and demands, "What was in that can? What did you spray on the Easter Bunny?" The woman hands him the can and he looks at the label. It says, "Hair Spray" Restores life to dead hair, and adds permanent wave."

[This is for my brother, but y'all can enjoy it too if ya like ;-)]

The topic of today's Sunday Service, #857, is Friendship…

*******************************************
The Sermon
***********
Friendship

How sad and lonely life would be without it.

Friendship

There is nothing of greater value.

Friendship

It could be as simple as the appreciation of a single characteristic of an associate or an acquaintance.
It can be as all-encompassing as the deep inner longing to spend every second your life with the other person.
Most friendships fall somewhere in between those two.

Friendship

It can be one sided.
It can be mutual.
Mutual is of course preferable... but it's all good on some level. All Friendship has value.

Friendship

There are casual Friends... you may share certain things about yourself with them.
There are Good Friends... you might share most things about yourself with them.
There are Best Friends... you want to share Everything about yourself with them.

Friendship

Are you Friends with God?
Is it a casual Friendship?
Is God your Good Friend?
Is God one of your Best Friends?

Have you ever thought about it?
Isn't it something you Should think about?

Think about it!

Quotes
*******
(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-160 Section-2)
Isolation tends to exhaust the energy charge of the soul. Association with one's fellows is essential to the renewal of the zest for life and is indispensable to the maintenance of the courage to fight those battles consequent upon the ascent to the higher levels of human living. Friendship enhances the joys and glorifies the triumphs of life. Loving and intimate human associations tend to rob suffering of its sorrow and hardship of much of its bitterness. The presence of a friend enhances all beauty and exalts every goodness.

(From: Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931), The Prophet )
And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and the sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

(From: W. Lee Grant )
Shared laughter creates a bond of friendships. When people laugh together, they cease to be young and old, teacher and pupils, worker and boss.

(From: Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809 - 1894 )
Don't flatter yourself that friendship authorizes you to say disagreeable things to your intimates. The nearer you come into relation with a person, the more necessary do tact and courtesy become. Except in cases of necessity, which are rare, leave your friend to learn unpleasant things from his enemies; they are ready enough to tell them.

(From: Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968 )
In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

(From: Sydney Smith (1771 - 1845 )
Life is to be fortified by many friendships. To love and to be loved is the greatest happiness of existence.

(From: Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882 )
The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-180 Section-1)
The idea of duty signifies that you are servant-minded and hence are missing the mighty thrill of doing your service as a friend and for a friend. The impulse of friendship transcends all convictions of duty, and the service of a friend for a friend can never be called a sacrifice.

(From: Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882 )
The only way to have a friend is to be one.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-130 Section-7)
“A man who would have friends must show himself friendly.”

(From: Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1894 )
A friend is a gift you give yourself.

(From: Thomas Moore (1779 - 1852 )
To the soul, there is hardly anything more healing than friendship.

(From: Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC )
Without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-160 Section-4)
Train your memory to hold in sacred trust the strength-giving and worth-while episodes of life, which you can recall at will for your pleasure and edification. Thus build up for yourself and in yourself reserve galleries of beauty, goodness, and artistic grandeur. But the noblest of all memories are the treasured recollections of the great moments of a superb friendship.

(From: Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826 )
Our friendships are precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part is sunshine.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-159 Section-3)
In preaching the gospel of the kingdom, you are simply teaching friendship with God. And this fellowship will appeal alike to men and women in that both will find that which most truly satisfies their characteristic longings and ideals.

(From: Saint Teresa of Avila (1515 - 1582 )
For prayer is nothing else than being on terms of friendship with God.

(From: The Urantia Book - Paper-3 Section-1)
“The spirit of the everlasting Father is concealed in the mind of every mortal child.” “Man goes forth searching for a friend while that very friend lives within his own heart.” “The true God is not afar off; he is a part of us; his spirit speaks from within us.”
