Welcome by: Pastor Daniel
Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the Church that is Within.

This coming Friday, my wife Jill and I will be driving from Post Falls Idaho, to San Diego California. My mom is now living in an Altsheimers home and I will be getting her house (where I grew up), fixed up for rental. We will be gone from January 7th until January 23
rd, and since we are unable to afford a lap top computer to go with us, there will be no Church Within “Sunday Service” or “Story of the Week” during that time (unless of course someone chooses to donate one to us between now and then). So….

Well… another New Year is upon us. WELCOME 2005!

Are you happy to see that the year “2004” is behind us, or was it a good year for you?

Though there were Indeed some Good moments in 2004 for me, truthfully I can say that I am not at all displeased at it's passing. The majority of it I spent in severe to moderate lower back and hip pain. Added to that, the cost of living went up Significantly (the cost of fuel more than doubled in price---without even going Into the outrageous increases in Food prices), while wages for the Majority either stayed the same or decreased. We have had to endure the loss of war and the “Imposed” Fear of those in power who choose to wield it in an effort to control the thoughts and actions of the greater population. And… the many months of “political” inundation were Especially rewarding, don't you think? (NOT!!!) Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Floods, Eruptions, Tsunami's… all seemed particularly devastating in 2004, did they not?

2005 can only get Better, Right? Let us all Pray that it is so.

Today, the Sermon will once again precede the Quotes. It just… Felt right for some reason.

The topic of today's New Year's & Sunday Service, #430, is Purity of Heart…

The Sermon
Have you made any New Year's Resolutions for 2005?

I resolve to make 2005 a better year than was 2004. It shouldn't be too difficult, considering.

If the only thing I can change in 2005 is my Attitude, then it will be surely enough to fulfill that resolution, I think.

Would it be enough for you?

What Would the perfect 2005 look like for you?

What can you do to help make it look like that?

Anything? Or are you completely powerless to do anything about it?

Is it Purely as simple as changing my perspective?

Is Purity of Heart enough to make the difference?

Maybe it Is!

Perhaps it is worth an Honest Try… Just to see.

What do you Think?

I'm willing to give it a shot.

Are You?

I Resolve…

…to be more Loving.
…to be more Compassionate.
…to be more Understanding.
…to be more Accepting.
…to be more Dedicated in Purpose.

…to be more “Pure of Heart.”

(From: Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519)

Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigors of the mind.

(From: Margaret Fuller (1810 - 1850)
It is astonishing what force, purity, and wisdom it requires for a human being to keep clear of falsehoods.

(From: Norson - 1/1/93– the Kona HI TeaM)
The Kingdom of God is within. The keys to the Kingdom are sincerity. These things you already know. Sincerity originates in the heart. One can feel it. Sincerity is manifest in your thoughts, words, and actions. To truly love someone, you must be sincere. Always allow the purity of the spirit to fill you before you act, speak, even think. Purity and sincerity walk hand in hand. Feel the blessings of sincere motivation in the reaction of those you contact. People are super consciously uplifted when met by a sincere greeting or a pure deed.

(From: The Urantia Papers - Paper-140 Section-5)
Spiritual purity is not a negative quality, except that it does lack suspicion and revenge. In discussing purity, Jesus did not intend to deal exclusively with human sex attitudes. He referred more to that faith which man should have in his fellow man; that faith which a parent has in his child, and which enables him to love his fellows even as a father would love them. A father's love need not pamper, and it does not condone evil, but it is always anticynical. Fatherly love has singleness of purpose, and it always looks for the best in man; that is the attitude of a true parent.

(From: Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC)
A life of peace, purity, and refinement leads to a calm and untroubled old age.

(From: The RSV Bible - Matthew 5:8)
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

(From: The Urantia Papers - Paper-196 Section-0)
The faith of Jesus attained the purity of a child's trust. His faith was so absolute and undoubting that it responded to the charm of the contact of fellow beings and to the wonders of the universe. His sense of dependence on the divine was so complete and so confident that it yielded the joy and the assurance of absolute personal security. There was no hesitating pretense in his religious experience. In this giant intellect of the full-grown man the faith of the child reigned supreme in all matters relating to the religious consciousness. It is not strange that he once said, "Except you become as a little child, you shall not enter the kingdom." Notwithstanding that Jesus' faith was childlike, it was in no sense childish.

(From: The RSV Bible - Philippians 4:8)
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

The Prayer
Dear God,
Clarify my Perception, and Purify my Heart. Show me the Greater Perspective of Your Divine Wisdom. I do not well on my own. I Need Your constant Presence in my life. Show me again the Way Father. Maybe it will “Stick” this time.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal

The Creator's Infinite Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
