"Face to face"
(Bob Perks - Bob@BobPerks.com)

I hadn't seen him for a while. Permit me to correct that. I've seen him but I haven't spoken with him. In fact, I see him everyday. It is my fault perhaps. I could have, I should have said something sooner.

But I didn't.

God knows I think about him everyday, and yet, I never take the time to stop and look him in the eye directly, have a word or two of encouragement or take a minute to make sure he's alright.

There is so much I want to say to him. I guess I've been putting it off deliberately. It won't be easy to face him after all this time. Maybe it's because I'm afraid of what I'll really see. Maybe I'll discover the real truth about him when we come face to face again.

It could be that I rather hold on to the image I have of him now. The way I remember him or maybe it's the way I'd rather think about him.

What will I say?

"How are you?"

"Boy, you're looking good." I might have to lie a little. It's been that long. I'm sure he's showing his age more now.

"How's your business?"

"Tell me about all the things you have accomplished."

"Have you reached all those goals you set years ago?

"How's your family? I bet they're proud of you."

"How about God? Is He still #1 on your list?"

I don't know. This might not be as easy as it sounds. But I need to do it.

Tomorrow after my wife has left for work I'll have a long talk with him. I need to. He's really my best friend. I think we need to face some truths.

Besides I can't lie to myself when I'm looking in the mirror face to face.

The Prayer
***********
Dear God,
You're still #1 on my List and that will never change. If that were the only success I ever tasted on this world, still it would be enough… and satisfying.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal Parent,

The Creator's Eternal Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
