“A Glass Of Water”
(Author Unknown)

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his students on stress management. He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?"

The students' answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.

"It does not matter on the absolute weight," he then imparted to them. “It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance. It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

“If we carry our burdens all the time,” the presenter continued, “sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier. What you have to do, is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again. We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are able to carry on.”

“So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment if you can. Pick it up again later when you have rested.... Rest and relax.”

Better yet: Give your burdens to your Lord.

Life is much too short, enjoy it!!

The Prayer
***********
Dear God,
It's fascinating to me how when I give my burdens up to you, or more correctly, as I release Control of them unto you, they no longer appear to me so burdensome. Why is that? Is it perhaps that you then modify them according to your higher and more loving purpose when I let go of my grasp on them... so that the burden itself is changed? Or is it that my release of the interminable stress of trying to control them rejuvenates me, replenishes my strength, allows me to view them with a clearer and higher perspective? Both you say???
Then why do I so foolishly wrestle with the insufferable burdens of life so long before I unshackle myself from their debilitating weight? Why do I try to control that which You hold in Perfect control? Would it not be the better part of wisdom for me to hand it over to You in the First place... to share my burdens with you as they appear? Oh... yeah... that's the Point, Isn't it? Humbly Sharing my Life with You ALL the time! Then nothing really has the opportunity of Becoming overly burdensome. What a Concept! Thank You Father!!

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal Parent,

The Creator's Eternal Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
