"It's just like you said it would be."
(By Bob Perks - Bob@BobPerks.com)

It's just like you said it would be.

Some days I see the sun shine in the smallest living things. The sky is blue and the colors so bright they leave me breathless.

I feel the air brush gently across my face as I watch in awe, the flight of a hundred birds within feet of where I am standing. There are so many, in fact, that I am caught up in their freedom and feel myself wanting to join them.

I try desperately to stand still as I watch the flowers in my garden sway in the breeze as the warmth of the sun gently wraps around them. But I cannot. I find myself caught in the music of the day created by the sounds of the world around me. I am swaying to the pulse of life itself.

It's just like you said it would be.

I hear the laughter of children and find myself giggling not even knowing why.

I lay down on the ground and smell the earth so rich with life. I run my fingers through the blades of grass and hold tightly as the earth blazes a path through eternal space and time.

I take a deep breath on a cold night, hold it inside and slowly release it watching the heat of my body and the cold air swirl together in a dance accented by the light of the moon.

I stand in the darkness and gaze at the stars feeling so insignificant, so unimportant in the scheme of things.

But the voice within me reminds me that I am a child of God with a purpose, a gift to offer the world that only I can.

And I feel I can face tomorrow because...
It's just like you said it would be.
