The Light and Life Sanctuary - Plant a Tree Campaign
(reprinted from Sunday Service #387… for they who don't read those ;-)

In my eagerness for the arrival of Spring, I discovered that this last week both Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement Centers began getting their shipments of “bare-root” plants and trees. Being unable to resist the opportunity, I purchased two English Walnut trees for the “Light and Life Sanctuary.” Most nut trees do better in warmer climates than ours in North Idaho, so discovering that these particular nut trees Flourish in environments such as ours was an exciting find---especially finding them as bare-roots which are considerably less expensive than potted trees! Bare-root trees (usually available only until May) range in cost from $13.00 to $25.00 each, in comparison to potted trees (after May) which range from $25.00 to over $50.00 a piece. Berry plants (Blueberry, Raspberry, Blackberry, etc.), range from $5.00-$10.00 each.

Due to much clearing and preparation of land last year, we now have an abundance of room for the planting of new Fruit and Decorative trees, as well as Roses, Hedge shrubbery (10-15 dollars each), and other new landscaping endeavors. As you may well imagine, it is a rather expensive undertaking in addition to it's being somewhat labor intensive with planting, irrigation and maintenance. That said, Tree Donations for the Beautification of the Light and Life Sanctuary are now being accepted by the Church Within. If you wish to donate to the purchase of a “Tree” or a “Rose” bush (please designate), your name will be displayed near the tree/rose that you made possible----(ie: This ________ Tree/Rose was Donated by: _________) or (This _______ Tree/Rose was planted In Memory of: ________). Donations designated “General Landscape” will be used for Hedges, irrigation supplies, decorative rock, grass sod, fencing or other associated landscaping expenses. Undesignated donations will be used for general maintenance and church expenses. All donations are tax deductible. Thank You!

The Best Way to Pray
(Author Unknown)

A priest, a minister and a guru sat discussing the best positions for prayer while a telephone repairman worked nearby.

"Kneeling is definitely the best way to pray," the priest said.

"No," said the minister. "I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven."

"You're both wrong," the guru said. "The most effective prayer position is lying down on the floor."

The repairman could contain himself no longer. "Hey, fellas," he interrupted, "The best prayin' I ever did was when I was hangin' upside down from a telephone pole."

Dear God,
For me, the best way to pray is while walking or working in the Garden.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal Parent,

The Creator's Eternal Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
