Greetings my Dearest Sisters and Brothers, and welcome again to Church Within's Story of the Week ["SOW Seeds”].

Our dear sister Patije who so faithfully contributes so many of the stories we use here in our weekly Service, sent me an e-mail with Two stories in it this time (unbeknownst to me when I had already read and decided to use the first one). When I discovered that there was a second one, and read It, I couldn't decide which one to use today… I loved them Both. So I decided Not to decide.

Neither Story had a title nor attributed author, and so I took certain liberties and chose a title for each of them using a line from the associated story. If anyone knows the “correct” title and author of either or both of them… please let me know and I'll update.

Now… not only did Patije provide these two exceptional stories in this e-mail to me, she also said that they reminded her of a quote in the Urantia Book “about spreading the virus of love!!!” Well… I just happen to be quite familiar with that particular quote in the “UB” about the “benign virus of love” since it is one of my Very Favorites from the “Religion in Human Experience” Paper… so That one became the “Pastors Quote of the Week” this week. I Must say… to me it is one of the most Significant (Social) “Love Quotes” that I have ever encountered.

In the 424 weeks that I have been doing these weekly SOW Seeds Services, I personally have provided probably not many more than a dozen of them. The rest have been sent to me by You, the Readers. I appreciate you very Much!!! If you happen to send me a story that I have already used sometime in the past 424 weeks, I will most likely not use it again unless I forget or have a “senior moment” or something… but know that I appreciate each and every one of the stories so many of you beloved friends send to me. I almost never send a reply to story contributions due to lack of time… so Here's a Big THANK YOU to ALL of you for your continued support… I truly Value You!!!

So in closing, before we “get right to it” I'd just like to say for today… Nice Service Patije!!! Thanks Dear Sister!!!!

Story of the Week
“We Wish You A Speedy Recovery”
(Author Unknown)

I live in a high rise apartment building in a large city. One of the gentlemen who lives in my building is an angry person. He walks with his head down and never speaks to anyone. He grunts under his breath loud enough to be heard. People are afraid to talk to him.

One day, I saw him with his leg in a cast. I asked him what happened. He only grunted an answer. For me, it was an opportunity to change his life a bit.
I purchased a bouquet of flowers and having sworn the doorman to secrecy, had him deliver the bouquet to our unhappy tenant's apartment. I signed the bouquet's card, "We wish you a speedy recovery" and signed it "All your neighbors at (our address)."

My formerly grumpy neighbor now smiles at everyone he meets, since he doesn't know which of these people thought him special enough to send the bouquet. As unhappy as he was, he was still grateful for the get well gesture.

It is fun for me to see him talking to all his neighbors, welcoming people into the building and being totally social with everyone.

Not one of my neighbors understands what made the change, but I know and so does God. Now the readers of this e-mail know and I hope each of you helps to make this practice a full fledged "epidemic".

“That Smile”
(Author Unknown)

I once met a cheerful person who seemed to me that he must have grown up with this attribute.
"You probably were always a happy person," I commented to him.

With a big smile, he replied, "I'm afraid not. I was a difficult child. I complained a lot and was frequently miserable. As a young adult I was highly irritable. People usually got on my nerves. One day, however, I met someone who had a major impact on my life. This person said something humorous and made me smile.

"You have a great smile," he said to me. "You should see how different you look when you smile from the way you look without that smile. Look at the difference in a mirror. Start with smiling. Speak cheerfully to each person you meet. Experiment for an entire month."

"So far my experiment has lasted over ten years and I think I'll keep it up for at least another ten years."

Pastor's Quote of the Week
You cannot truly love your fellows by a mere act of the will. Love is only born of thoroughgoing understanding of your neighbor's motives and sentiments. It is not so important to love all men today as it is that each day you learn to love one more human being. If each day or each week you achieve an understanding of one more of your fellows, and if this is the limit of your ability, then you are certainly socializing and truly spiritualizing your personality. Love is infectious, and when human devotion is intelligent and wise, love is more catching than hate. But only genuine and unselfish love is truly contagious. If each mortal could only become a focus of dynamic affection, this benign virus of love would soon pervade the sentimental emotion-stream of humanity to such an extent that all civilization would be encompassed by love, and that would be the realization of the brotherhood of man.

The Prayer
Dear God,
Thanks for Love! It is the value in every experience. It is The Answer to every query. It is… the Essence of Reality that we each strive to realize in life. It is our Link to You… and to each other.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal Parent,

The Creator's Eternal Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
