Greetings my Dearest Sisters and Brothers, and welcome again to Church Within's Story of the Week ["SOW Seeds”].

This week's SOW Seeds Story, contributed by: Patije

Story of the Week
(Author Unknown)

When you look at the big picture, can we see what is really important? In my mind it is friends. This is something to think about.

A young woman was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of an airline at a big airport. She sat down in an armchair in the VIP room to rest and read in peace.

As she would need to wait many hours, she decided to buy a book to spend her time reading, and she also bought a packet of cookies.

Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies lay, a man sat down in the seat next to her, opened his magazine and started to read.

When she took a cookie from the packet, the man took one as well. She felt irritated, but said nothing. She just thought, "What nerve! If I were in the mood, I'd punch him right now for daring!"

For each cookie she took from the packet, the man took one, too. And each time, she was more infuriated, but she said nothing, as she didn't want to make a scene.

When only one cookie remained, she thought, "Ah… What will this abusive man do now?"

Then the man took out the last cookie and divided it in half, giving her one half and eating the other half. And that was just too much! She was really angry now. In her huff, she left the half cookie, took her things and stormed out of the VIP room to the boarding area, where she sat in a seat and stewed.

She tried to read her book, but she kept turning the rudeness of the cookie thieving man over and over in her mind. She decided to go back to the little store in the concourse and buy more cookies. She opened her purse to drop her reading glasses in and to look for money or a credit card. To her surprise, she found her packet of cookies there, unopened!

She felt so ashamed… She had been wrong! She had forgotten that her cookies were in her purse, not out on the armchair…

That kind man had divided and shared his cookies with her, without feeling any anger or bitterness. All the while, she had been very angry, thinking she had divided her cookies and shared them, against her will, with him…

She ran back to the VIP room, but the man had departed on another flight. Now she would have no chance to explain herself or to apologize…

There are four things we cannot recover:

The stone… after the throw…
The word… after it is spoken…
The occasion… after it's lost…
The time… after it's gone!

Sometimes we don't see things as they really are...

Pastor's Quote of the Week
Seldom, very seldom, does complete truth belong to any human disclosure; seldom can it happen that something is not a little disguised, or a little mistaken.

(From: Jane Austen (1775 - 1817), Emma )

The Prayer
Dear God,
I'll bet you got a really good Chuckle out of the last line of the story, “Sometimes we don't see things as they really are…” when in reality it is extremely Rare when we humans actually Do see things as they really are. Thanks for Your Incredible Patience with our inescapable immaturity.

You ALL are Within the Infinitely Loving Embrace of our Universal Parent,

The Creator's Eternal Love to all of You,
Pastor Daniel
