"Once Loved"
(©2010 by Bob Perks)

I was responding to a friend who was reflecting on the loss of his first wife. She died much too early. As I was writing I remembered a number of you who have written to me through the years about the death of a loved one.

The "Voice" today said to send it to you, too.

This was written for Michael T. Smith and also meant for you.

Mike, my friend

Pieces of love always remain like tiny fragments flowing endlessly through your mind.

They are tucked away deep inside and come to the surface at just the right time during those most challenging days of our lives. Pain fades, love lingers in the replayed memories that best fit the moment.

There is no cure for love accept to love again.

The greatest thing about love is that is it elastic, expansive and all encompassing. That means you can love again and not diminish who you loved before. You can love more and love even those who do not love in return.

We are called to have faith, to hold onto hope, and to love.

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

To love is to breath. Once loved we live forever.
